Introduction
The department of Accounting and Economics has been introduced to nurture graduates for global challenges of digitalization, artificial intelligence and economic warfare. It is only possible to make informed and effective decisions in field of accounting & finance and economics when learned youth is participating to uplift economic issues not only at national level but global level. The trend of globalization, digitalization and artificial intelligence poses threat to countries in making informed economic decisions and it is only possible when learned and skilled economists and financial decision makers participate.
Hence effort has been taken to provide learning platform to students for theory and practice in shape of four year programs of BS-Accounting & Finance and BS-Economics in this department of The University of Larkano.
The interesting to students in this department is that it has decided to start admission on open merit as the students having different intermediate background i.e. Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, Commerce, Computer Science and Arts etc. can apply and get admission on merit basis.
Further the department has highly qualified faculty in shape of PhD’s in the field of Economics, Entrepreneurship and Behavioral Finance having more than 60 research papers in their area of expertise.
Following two programs in evening shift are available for admission in the department of Accounting & Economics
- BS-Economics
- BS-Accounting and Finance
Specializations are offered in third year and final year of both programs and specialization are based on the need and demand of market as per HEC guidelines.
Not limited to this, there is opportunity to learn socialization, handling challenges and learning opportunities in shape of group discussions, research conferences, seminars, online webinars, workshops, guest speaker sessions, sports and entrepreneurial marathons.
